My name is Christie Van De Water and this is my 12th year as a teacher. In NYC, I worked with students with severe disabilities and autism for 2 years while simultaneously getting my masters degree in Childhood Education 1st-6th and Special Education 1st-6th from Pace University. This is my 4nd year at Kinry Road after being at another school in district for 6 years. and I am so thrilled to be here with your children as I went to Kinry as a student!
I have a VERY busy family. I can't stress enough how important family is to me and want to make sure you know I am here to support your family as well!
I am very active and still play soccer. If you can believe it, I actually played for Ketcham way back when I was in school. I continued to play when I got to college and still play as much as I can to this day. Soccer is my favorite sport to play, but I will play just about anything-especially kickball during recess (I'm maybe a little competitive). I love to be active and to be outside.
I also LOVE to read and will read anything in front of me. Funny story, the only time I EVER got in trouble in school was because I got caught reading during my math work.
I can be reached by telephone before school, or during my prep period; however the best way to reach me is through email or Class Dojo
