ICT Classroom
What is ICT?
In an integrated co-teaching (ICT) class, students with special needs learn together in the same classroom as students without special needs.
A general education teacher and a special education teacher work together to teach all of the students.
Both of the teachers are involved in the planning and delivery of instruction, student assessment, and all aspects of classroom management.
A key difference between a general education class and a co-teaching class is the lower student-to-teacher ratio. This enables the teachers to address the students’ individual learning needs through a variety of instructional strategies.
Both support services and enrichment opportunities are available depending upon the strengths and weaknesses of each student.
All the students in a co-teaching class are required to meet the second grade standards.
