Il professore

Buongiorno! Piacere di conoscervi!

My name is Signor Parlapiano, and I am so excited to start my journey teaching at RCK this year. This will be my 12th year teaching in Wappingers - my first 11 were at Van Wyck JHS teaching 7th and 8th grade Italian, and there I was also the Teacher-in-Charge of the World Languages department. I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you for an amazing year.

I have a BA in Italian Studies (with a concentration in language and literature) and a MAT in Teaching Italian, grades 7-12 from Stony Brook University. I have studied abroad in Rome, and I have traveled extensively throughout Italy. I have studied French and Spanish, as well, having accumulated many undergraduate college credits in both languages. I am fascinated with the linguistic similarities and differences amongst the Romance Languages (particularly Italian, French and Spanish) and pride myself on having a strong foundation in all three of the languages, which happen to be the three world language options we offer here in Wappingers.

Every year I try to come up with new, fun and fresh ways to show students that discovering another language and culture is one of the greatest treasures life has to offer.

During my free time I like to travel, spend time with my loved ones, listen to music, watch tv, read, go to Mets games, and go to the beach. I am a rescue dog dad.

Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions, comments or concerns you may have - email is the best way to reach me at any time.

Let's have a great year together! =)
