We use a standards based grading system – the grades on the report card reflect the student’s abilities at the end of the marking period in regard to a particular standard.

1 - Does not meet the standards
Grades are determined by teacher assessments, observations, check-lists, and rubrics.
Reading: determined by the level at which the student can independently read and comprehend, reading conferences, phonics skills, sight word recognition, and vocabulary
Math: determined by classwork, quizzes, and end of module tests
Language Arts: determined by listening, speaking and participating, handwriting, writing conferences, writing benchmarks, and end-of-unit Fundations tests
Science and Social Studies: determine by ability to work cooperatively, unit projects/experiments, classwork, quizzes, and end-of-unit tests
