Parent Letter about Online Learning

April 1, 2020

Hello Parents and Families,

We hope that this letter finds you all healthy and well. We miss all of your children so much! We are hopIng that we find ways to communicate during this very new adventure of online learning. It’s new to you and us so we’re hoping that we learn many things and have fun along the way.

Although this is new, we want you to understand what online learning might look like for AIS. We have added your student to our personal Google Classrooms and by tomorrow, April 2, we will post a quick check-in question. Please have your child complete this by Friday, April 3rd, so that we will be able to make sure that everyone is ready to roll.

We are setting up temporary ‘office hours’ where we will be online responding to your emailed questions and concerns at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please feel free to email us at any time and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can or by the next office hour slot. Realize that there is a possibility that we might be responding to other parents or students, but we will get back to you as soon as possible. Also, keep in mind that these office hours are tentative and we will inform you of any future changes.

We would love to hear what your child has been doing over the past few weeks - books they have read or ones that maybe you are reading as a family, math games or math fluency practice, etc. We appreciate your support during this challenging time and look forward to working together. Thank you!
