Hello Families!

My name is Cassie Horton, and this is my fifth year working with Gayhead Elementary students.  This year marks my 22nd year in the profession; 13 of them as a reading interventionist. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Literacy Instruction, certified as a K-12 reading teacher, a Middle/High School English teacher, and an Educational Technology Specialist.  I bring all these skills to teaching your students, and I am very much looking forward to supporting them as they grow their reading skills.

Here is a little personal information about me. I live in Red Hook, NY with my husband and 2 sons, Cooper and Sawyer.  Cooper is in the sixth grade and Sawyer just started Kindergarten.  Both boys keep us busy!
