Reading:

Read, read, read! Students are encouraged to read daily for at least 20 minutes, depending on grade level. Please encourage your child to explore different literary genres over the school year. Reading a variety of materials, both fiction and nonfiction will help expose your child to the different types of writing styles and will give him/her different reading experiences. Students are also encouraged to write regularly. Encourage your child to start a journal with a friend or relative and have him/her take turns writing in it. Writing every day, even if it's for just a few minutes, will help improve your child's skills.

Math:

Students are expected to instantly recall addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. Therefore, reviewing these facts daily will greatly benefit them to perform more complex computations throughout the school year.
