JJ Science Research Symposium, 2023
Welcome to the 3rd annual John Jay HS Science Research Symposium! I'm so proud of these students, especially given the challenges everyone faced due to the pandemic. In addition to pursuing their research interests, they also helped to plan this symposium and design this website.
Please click on the "BIOS" link above to learn more about the students and their projects.
Please click on the "SCHEDULE" link above to see the plan for the evening.
Thank you enormously for attending and for your support of the JJ Science Research students!

Keynote Speaker - Ms. Laura Darby
Laura Darby is a conservationist, primatologist, diplomat, and twin mom. She began her career in the Democratic Republic of Congo working with orphaned chimpanzees, and the story of their heroic rescue has been featured on the Today Show and the New York Times. Since leaving field work, she has worked for the United Nations, both in Kenya and abroad. She is the author of two books coming out next year, Love and Malaria, an account of her time in DRCongo with her now-husband, Adam, and Monkeys Don’t Eat Bananas, a children’s book inspired by her experiences as a primatologist mom reading to her kids.
