FAQ

• Can I bring additional decorations?

Although our room comes pre-decorated, you are welcome to bring any additional decorations you like. Our only restrictions are that the zoo does not allow balloons on site and anything you decide to bring has to be easily removable.

• Can I extend the capacity beyond 35 people?

No. Unfortunately we are unable to extend the capacity for 35 people (including host family) as that has been set as the fire safety standard for the room as well as for the well being of the animal guests. Failure to comply with the safety standards set for the room may impact the party and additional guests may be asked to leave the space.

• How does selecting an animal work for the encounter?

Once your party has booked we will send a form to fill out with our initial correspondence. In this form you will list your preferences based on the available animals we have for parties. For a list of available animals you can check out the Party Animals! page on this website. Based on availability we will select 2 animals from your preferences to bring for the animal encounter. Please keep in mind as these are live animals, there may be last minute changes as animals may become unavailable for unforeseen reasons but we will do our best to accommodate 2 out of the 4 preferred animals. 

• Where is the party space located?

Our party space is located right next to the main entrance of the zoo. It is the large building that says classroom above the doors.

• Can we stay in the zoo after the party?

Yes! You are more than welcome to stay in the zoo after the conclusion of your party with us! With the birthday party, you and all your guests have access to both the main zoo and the children's zoo.

• Do we still have the tour if it is cold/snowy/rainy?

Yes. As our animals are out, we hold our tours rain, shine, or even snow! Please keep this in mind as you invite and instruct guests that we will be touring the outdoor loop of the zoo. 

• Do we provide gift bags?

We do not provide gift bags as part of our birthday package, if you would like to bring some for the party it is the responsibility of the birthday host.

• Do we provide utensils?

We do not provide utensils, serving plates/trays, or napkins so we ask that you bring your own. As we are a conservation based organization, we ask that guests limit their single-use plastic consumption as much as possible.
