Welcome to Mr. Yu's Pre-Calculus Honors!
You will be able to navigate through Pre-Calculus content through the menu shown at the top of the page under Fall 2022 -> Pre-Calculus Honors or by clicking on links provided on this page or subsequent pages.
Hello, my name is Jung Yu. This is my ninth year teaching at Wakefield High School. While I did not teach Pre-Calculus Honors last year, I had taught it the previous four years. I have also taught about every other level of math in my time at at Wakefield from Fundamental Math to AP Calculus except for Math 4 and AP Statistics. This semester I will be teaching Pre-Calculus Honors exclusively.
If you have talked to any of my past students, you should know that I am one of the most available teachers at the school. While I do have official office hours on Wednesday and Friday from 2:30 to 3:30, we can schedule appointments before school (yes, before 7:25 AM), during lunch, or after school, please do not be afraid to send me an email or send me a message on remind to set up a different time.
Speaking of Remind ... I like to use Remind as my primary contact method to students. Remind is a great way to ask questions and ask for help, Students can send me an individual remind and even send me a photo of the problem you are having working on and ask a question. I often help students this way after school hours. Please keep in mind that I cannot always respond as quickly as you would like but via remind is usually the fastest way to get a response from me.
Parents/Guardians can also sign up on remind to receive the class notifications that I send. However, my preferred communication method with parents/guardians is Talking Points. If you are a Parent/Guardian reading this, you should have received a Talking Points message from me. If you have not then we will try and get that connection set up correctly in the first week of school or you can send me an email message at jyu@wcpss.net.
On this website, you can easily access the Syllabus, as well as my Weekly Message to Parents, Most students will be accessing information on Canvas. This is where they will find most of the learning material and assignments and see their due dates. Parents/Guardians who want observer access to their students Canvas account to see this information will need to work with their child to set up a Canvas Parent Observer Account using these instructions.
If you are a parent/guardian and have not filled out a Parent/Guardian contact form, please do so on the bottom of my home page.
Please do not hesitate to contact me (jyu@wcpss.net) with any questions, concerns, or comments.
