YES DAYParents, Guardians, and Families, We are excited to host our first ever #YES DAY on May 3, 2024 at York Elementary!! #YES DAY will be a STEM EXPO, FIELD DAY AND KID CELEBRATION!! We want to make sure every student has access to an experience they won't forget! To make this fantastic event a success, we need VOLUNTEERS! Volunteers will play an important role in helping run activities and making sure students have a BLAST! For safety reasons, #YES DAY is only open to York Elementary Students and individuals that sign up to volunteer. If you are able to commit to volunteering for #YES day, please review the activity descriptions below and pick a time slot!! Just note ***ONLY VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE BEEN APPROVED THROUGH WCPSS will be allowed to participate! Field Day/Water Activities - Students will participate in upwards of 15 stations ranging from water activities to structured games! (If you volunteer for this area, come dressed in clothes that can get WET!) Scrap Exchange- Students will sort through a variety of materials including re-purposed items to create a one-of-a-kind art project. Art Gallery- The Art Gallery is a culmination of all the students' artwork around the building. Drummer Circle- A drum circle experience where students come together by grade level to build community and celebrate all that we have accomplished this year. There will be a video recording of the STEM Expo Presentations and Art Gallery in case you are volunteering at another activity. There will also be other opportunities for families to visit the Art Gallery. YES DAY will start at 9:15 (for volunteers) and run to about 3:30 (for 5th grade).
