Congratulations! We are excited to work with you this year as you move towards graduation. It's very important to us that all of our Seniors have a plan for what they will do after graduation, whether that be staying a fifth year, pursuing further education, joining the military, or heading out into the workforce.
Check this page often! We'll post copies of presentations and share important information and opportunities.

September Senior Conferences:
Sign up for Senior Conferences use this link! https://calendly.com/ahicks2/classof2024
Seniors MUST complete the WYMLA High School Senior Sheet prior to attending their Senior Conference.
To ensure every senior has a special year, we are asking each senior to pay a fee to help cover expenses (senior shirt, senior gift, senior breakfast, stole, diploma, graduation expenses, etc…) over the year. If you would like to sponsor another student, we are gladly accepting additional donations. More information coming soon!
RDS Form:
Complete the North Carolina Residency Determination Service (RDS) - To be eligible for in-state tuition, state grants, and certain financial aid, you must show that you are a resident of North Carolina. https://ncresidency.cfnc.org/residencyInfo/. It is ideal to sign in through your CFNC account (option provided on the left side of RDS login page). If you don’t remember your login information, go to www.cfnc.org to recover your username or password.
Financial Aid:
Can I do anything now to prepare for the new form?
You will need a Federal Student Aid ID, made up of a user name and password, to complete the form. If you don’t already have an ID, creating one now can save time when the new form comes out. Apply for the ID online. You will need your Social Security number, full name and date of birth. (Currently, you can complete the FAFSA online without an ID and mail in a signature page BUT user IDs will be required for the new 2024-25 form, according to the Federal Student Aid office website.)
Get prepared to complete the FAFSA as early as October by creating an FSA ID at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch

Over 900 colleges and universities nationwide utilize the Common Application - Before applying, check to see if your college uses the Common App!
Use the CFNC Application Hub to apply to NC colleges, send official high school transcripts, and monitor your progress in a single place. Check back in October of 2023 to see the list of NC colleges and universities that are waiving application fees on CFNC.org during College Application Week!
If you are interested in attending an HBCU (Historically Black College/University), the Common Black College Application offers a one time fee of $25 to apply to 65 HBCUs.
The Coalition App is also a free online application for first-year and transfer students to quickly and easily apply to colleges and universities across the United States. Currently, there are only 150+ colleges and universities on the Coalition App. Why? Because the Coalition only accepts colleges and universities that provide substantial financial support to lower-income and underrepresented students.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid : Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You can begin completing the FAFSA on October 1, 2022 if you plan to begin college in the fall of 2023.
