WEIGHT TRAINING AND CONDITIONING I
This course is designed for the novice weight training student who is ready to actively participate in daily physical activity, including but not limited to weight training, cardiovascular training/conditioning, plyometrics, speed and agility training, injury prevention, and safety precautions while exercising. The major focus of this course is to introduce lifting techniques, focusing on form and progression. Physical testing, such as a one rep max out and 40-yard dash, are done to examine growth throughout the semester. Students will also learn basic principles and foundations of exercise science and be tested on the terminology.
WEIGHT TRAINING AND CONDITIONING II
This course is designed for the experienced weight training student who has previously completed the Weight Training and Conditioning I course. This course is specifically for students who seek to grow and learn further in the areas of strength and conditioning, utilizing the foundational techniques learned in Weight Training and Conditioning I. Students are expected to participate in daily physical activity, including but not limited to weight training, cardiovascular training/conditioning, plyometrics, speed and agility training, injury prevention, and safety precautions while exercising. Students will be assessed physically throughout the semester via one rep max testing, speed and agility testing, plyometrics, and jump testing. Students will also use the exercise science principles learned in Weight Training and Conditioning I to help formulate and create workout plans and to provide reflective feedback to their instructor throughout the semester.
WEIGHT TRAINING AND CONDITIONING III
This course is designed for the experienced weight training student who has previously completed the Weight Training and Conditioning II course. This course is a deeper continuation with advanced rigor in the areas of strength and conditioning that were previously learned, utilizing the foundational techniques and principles that were learned in Weight Training and Conditioning I & II. Students are expected to participate in daily physical activity, including but not limited to weight training, cardiovascular training/conditioning, plyometrics, speed and agility training, injury prevention, and safety precautions while exercising. Students will be assessed physically throughout the semester via one rep max testing, speed and agility testing, plyometrics, and jump testing.
