BYOD @ Wendell Middle School

What is BYOD?

BYOD Stands for Bring Your Own Device. 2018-19 is the second year that WMS has had a BYOD program.

Why BYOD at WMS?

Historically, phones and other personal electronic devices have been banned because of the distraction they may create for our students. At WMS however, we believe that technology is all in how you use it, and we endeavor to teach young people the myriad ways that access to the world in your pocket can actually enhance learning, not detract from it -- as long as it's used properly. Structures and procedures will be paramount to our BYOD roll-out, but we believe in preparing our students for their future, and teaching them to productively use technology is a huge part of that vision.

When will BYOD take effect at Wendell Middle?

Wendell Middle will become a BYOD school on September 24th, 2018
