Congratulations to the Advanced Ensemble for earning a Superior Rating on their performance adjudication this Spring! They performed two selections and were scored by a panel of three expert clinicians from across NC. Superior is the highest possible rating.

Congratulations to 8th Graders Kripa P., Gianna T., and Elana M. on their selection to represent WLMS at the NC All-State Chorus Festival this March! These students will learn and perform a concert of advanced repertoire alongside singers from across the state.

Our Tri-M Music Honor Society has been rewarded for their hard work! The chapter wrote up an itemized budget of items they would need to optimize their newly renovated practice space and submitted a grant proposal under the guidance of Ms. Lassiter to the Fuquay-Varina Women's Club. The chapter was awarded the grant, valued at $165.

We are thrilled to recognize six eighth grade students who have been a part of the Voices of the Lake Program for two full years, as well as a number of seventh and eighth grade students who have been a part of chorus for a full year. Students were recognized with a Wildcat music pin!

Congratulations to 5 West Lake chorus students who submitted videos to the North Carolina Symphony for inclusion in their One State, One Score virtual performance! We commend eighth graders Annabelle, Matthew, and Maryn, as well as seventh graders Xylo and Gianna, on their excellent performances. Stay tuned this Spring for the release of the final product!

The Voices of the Lake virtual performance of "Resilience" by Abbie Betinis was featured in West Lake Middle School's virtual Moving Up ceremony celebrating our eighth grade students moving on to high school! Featured soloists were Emma Claire, Taylor, Lily, Isabelle, Hannah, and Calista.
