3rd grade Explorers
Third graders participate in the Explorers Program. During the first quarter, the AIG teacher provides in-class experiences through the Explorers Program. Following whole group lessons, students selected by the AIG teacher and classroom teachers participate in small-group language arts and/or mathematics enrichment activities, led by the AIG teacher. Participation in the Explorers Program does not guarantee identification in the WCPSS AIG program.

Services for WCPSS AIG identified students in grades 3-8 are served as outlined in their DEP. Services include differentiated curriculum and instruction in reading/language arts and/or mathematics in the general education setting. With the support of the AIG teacher, classroom lessons are differentiated through content, process, and product. Through consultation with the general education teacher and direct instruction to the students, the AIG teacher will extend and enrich grade level standards. Service delivery in class and/or pull out classes may vary depending upon course offerings and student performance.
