About the teachers

Theresa Spies

Hi my name is Theresa Spies and I am excited about having the opportunity to teach your children this year!  I am originally from Florida but I have lived in North Carolina for the last 15 years.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Florida.  I have been teaching in the early childhood field for over 24 years.  My goal is to provide your child with a preschool experience that is fun, exciting, enriching and rewarding while servicing their IEP goals.  When I am not teaching I love spending time with my husband and two daughters.

Jolene MacCallum

Hi my name is Jolene MacCallum and I am excited to be here at West Lake Elementary!  My husband and I along with our 4 children just moved here from Montreal, Canada.   When not working, I enjoy being outdoors which includes hiking, biking and disc golf with my family.   A fun fact about me is that I am an identical twin and I have 9 year old twins.  I look forward to working with your child.
