Wakefield Elementary School
4th Grade
Mrs. Baxter:
This will be my 19th year teaching at Wakefield Elementary School, and I couldn't be more excited about this year than I was during my first year teaching. I am passionate about sparking a love of learning and looking forward to teaching and getting to know each of my students this year.
My husband and I live in Youngsville, and we have a dog named Lottie that we rescued from a shelter. My three children are all grown and are having children of their own. This summer, I got to spend time with my grandson, and we are getting ready for a new grandchild in October. I enjoy hiking with friends, gardening with my husband, reading and cooking, and spending time with my family.
Mrs. Simpers:
Welcome to 4th grade! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I have been teaching at Wakefield for 16 years and my favorite grade level is 4th. I have two children, Trey (10th) and Tessa (7th grade). I love to do anything outdoors including hiking, marathons, and triathlons. One of my passions is travel and I have been to 4 continents in the last 4 years! I can't wait to hear all about your hobbies and interests.
In our classroom, we value positivity, hard work, and teamwork. We are going to have a fun and productive year!
Mrs. Johnson:
Hello 4th grade families! I am so excited for this new year! This year begins my 23rd year teaching, and 19th year at Wakefield! Although I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and a college elective course, I am VERY excited for this year with your child! I am married and have two beautiful sons. Reading and writing are my passion! I also love crafting and DIY projects, poetry, traveling, time with my family, and you can find my huge keychain collection in our classroom!
I am looking forward to a great year with this amazing group of kids! Thank you for sharing your child with me this year. It is my honor!
Mrs. Stegner
Welcome to 4th grade! I am thrilled to be your teacher this year! I started education in 1999 and started at WES April 2023. I have been at WMS for the past 20 years as a teacher and an administrator. I have been married for 20 years and have three wonderful children; a sophomore at WHS, a freshman at WHS and a 1st grader, here at WES. We have a rescue dog named Prentiss. My family loves doing things together
I know this year will be great and filled with learning, fun, friendship, and smiles!
