Welcome!

My name is Rebecca Weaver. I moved to North Carolina and started my teaching career in Wake County in 2006. Over the years I've worked in many different roles but the best part of my day has always been the students. I am so excited to be teaching and learning with your child this year!

I'm originally from Michigan but could not handle the cold anymore~I much prefer a beach! I went to Michigan State University and have my Masters in Curriculum with a focus on Literacy. I'm National Board Certified and after visiting almost all of North Carolina's State Parks, am also a certified North Carolina Environmental Educator.

Some things not many people know about me:

• I once canoed to and camped on a platform in the middle of the Great Dismal Swamp.
• My Grandpa helped invent poptarts.
• I love to bake! I'm pretty good at making CakePOPS.
• I've White Water Rafted the Snake River, New River Gorge, and the French Broad River.

I live in North Raleigh with my husband, Lee, and we have two children; Teagan and Devin. Teagan will be in Kindergarten at Parkside this year. Besides at school events as a teacher and as a parent, you'll find our family around Raleigh at many of the local events, from BugFest to Food Truck Rodeos, on the weekends!
