Wake STEM students will take the ASVAB assessment in their Junior Year. The version of the ASVAB available in schools is one part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) and is used for career exploration and planning. It is different from the enlistment version of the ASVAB, which is primarily given at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and used for recruiting purposes only. The ASVAB CEP is available at no cost to all high school students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and early post-secondary students to help them plan for the steps they need to enter their desired career field.
There are three Career Exploration Scores: verbal, math, and science/ technical. Each score highlights your strengths in that area and is based on a combination of the individual ASVAB subtests. Once you delve into the ASVAB CEP, you will use your Career Exploration Scores to explore the OCCU-Find to discover careers that align with your skills. The CEP has a suite of tools that allow teens to explore career options and plan for the future. The OCCU-Find is one of these. The ASVAB OCCU-Find is a unique career database designed especially for high school students. It contains detailed information on over 1,000 occupations in an easy-to-navigate format to help you make informed decisions about your future.
