Grading Policy

Grading Policy:

• Grading is on a 10-point scale.
• Students will be permitted to retake assignments if they score below a 70.
  • The student must request the retake and give themselves adequate time to study.
  • The student must retake at least 2 days before the end of a grading period.
  • The student must come to at least 2 Spartan Time sessions before the re-take to get remediation support.
  • The parent of the student will be notified that the student is re-taking an assessment.

For 6th and 7th grade Spanish students, the grades are weighted as follows:

• Homework: 10%
• Speaking assessments: 10%
• Quizzes: 20%
• Written tests: 30%
• Projects: 30%

For 8th grade students, the grades are weighted as follows:

• Homework: 10%
• Speaking assessments: 10%
• Quizzes: 20%
• Written classroom tests: 20%
• Projects: 20%
• Spanish 1 exam: 20%
