Math Highlights- This week the students will practice adding three-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. We will review the strategies (using doubles and making a ten), we learned previously and will practice applying them. Students will practice using place value blocks to represent the numbers and add them.
Social Studies - Due to the shortened days last week we had to pause some of our social studies lessons and will resume them this week. We will continue "Being Historical Detectives". We will continue learning about primary and secondary sources. Students will compare various perspectives of the same time period using primary and secondary sources.
Letterland Highlights- This week we will continue and complete unit 17 which teaches them about more variant vowel teams. They will learn about three new Vowel Teams. We will learn about -ew, -ue, and -oo. Due to the CogAt testing we cannot begin a new unit. Please encourage your child to complete their Letterland activies at home every week.
Field Trip Chaperones: Our field trip is just around the corner on February 20th. Your child's teacher will reach out to you with all of the specifics very soon. Thank you so much for your support, we are looking forward to this learning experience.
Science Fair News: Time is running out! If your child is interested in joining in on this great night of science please make sure you sign up by 2/15 at 8 pm.
Inclement Weather: Thank you parents for all of your support during the remote learning days. We appreciated the work being completed and turned in so efficiently. The students did a good job of completing quality work and even catching up on Dreambox lessons!
