Science - Special visitors have joined our classroom this week; we have caterpillars in our room! This marks the beginning of our unit on life cylces. The students will get to experience a butterfly's life cycle in our classroom. Students will be expected to summarize the life cycle of animals including: Birth, Developing into an adult, Reproducing, and Aging and death
Letterland Highlights- We will study unit 28 this week, which features verbs and the rules for adding the suffix -ing at the end. They are learning that in order to keep the vowel sound short in some words they need a best friend at the end. They will also learn that if a word ends in an -e, they must drop the -e before adding -ing. The tricky words are: question and extra. Ask your child if they can identify what is tricky about them.
Teacher Appreciation Week:
The second grade team would like to thank all of the families for making teacher appreciation weeks so special! The cards, treats, flowers, and gifts were so incredibly thoughtful. We are honored to work with your students and partner with you in their learning journey!
