I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education this past May! Throughout my time at CCU, I learned effective teaching skills and strategies through hands-on experience. I completed four different practicums including my Student Teaching Internship, where I was placed as the primary teacher of a 4th grade class for four months. In addition to my collegiate experiences, I have worked in childcare and as a full time nanny. Every choice I have made throughout my collegiate journey and personal life was made with the intention of leading me to where I am now and preparing me to be the very best teacher I can be!
I have been extremely blessed to have an amazing family who I love very much! My family consists of my mother, my father, and my two older sisters. On the weekends, you can expect to find me in my parents home with them enjoying some family time!
I grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL and lived there until I left to attend college. Since then, my family has moved to Wake Forest, NC and we would make that decision a million times over! North Carolina was exactly what the doctor ordered, but of course I will always be a Chicago girl at heart!
Inside of the classroom, it is my hope to provide a space where all students feel safe, loved, confident and capable. As a teacher, I strive to show students how to be accomplished learners and good citizens to both their classmates and community through modeling and leading by example. Nothing is more important to me than meeting students where they are and helping them achieve their goals. Outside of the classroom, it is my goal to maintain open and honest communication with parents/guardians. I understand how important it is for you to trust me and be in the loop with what your student is learning while they are at school, and I fully intend to build trust, comfort, and confidence within each of you!
