Who Are We?

Your Rogers Lane PTA

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association, a school-based organization with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. Parents of students work together with teachers to volunteer in classes and events, raise money for school supplies and needs, and generally support the school's efforts.

Heather Carter-Weaver

Hello! My name is Heather, and I am your Rogers Lane PTA President for the 2023–2024 school year. In the past, I served as vice president. I am the proud Mother of Carter, who will be in the third grade this year and has attended the school since 2020. Carter, my husband (Dana), and I enjoy visiting relatives, attending church, and traveling. I became a member of the Rogers Lane School PTA to become a part of this amazing community and to actively support my son's education. I'd like to personally extend an invitation to you to join the PTA, get active however it makes sense for you and your family, and be involved in our efforts to assist children, teachers, and administrators!

Mike Sharp

My name is Mike Sharp, and I signed onto the PTA Board (co-Vice President) this year as the newest member. My wife and I have two girls; Cypress is in Ms. Wells's First grade class, and Hatteras is set to enter Kindergarten next year. We are big fans of everything outdoors- camping, paddling, riding bikes, hiking, and exploring. North Carolina has some areas unique not only to the US, but to the world. Ask us about it, we'd love to share some of our favorite places. Being a part of the PTA gives us a stronger connection to our children's school community, and allows us to better support the teachers and staff we rely on to help teach our kids about their world. Signing up for PTA membership doesn't obligate the member to volunteer or be involved, but it's a good place to start if you'd like to better support your child's education.

Stacey Kifer

I'm Stacey Kifer, PTA secretary 2022-2024. I am a speech therapist, wife, and mother of 2! Kaylee is in 2nd grade at Rogers Lane and Lydia is 3 years old. I love the beach, traveling, exploring the city, and spending time with family. Being a part of the PTA is critical to supporting our students and faculty and I will continue to volunteer every year!

Jon Gerew

Hello, I’m Jon Gerew, PTA Treasurer 2022-2024. I work for the state as an audit manager.  My wife Amie and I have 3 kids.  Samuel is in first grade, Avery is in fourth grade, and Zach is now in seventh grade at River Bend Middle. We have had at least one kid at Rogers Lane since the year that it opened.   We love traveling to explore new places and spending time with our families.  Being a part of the PTA has been great for staying connected to our school and for supporting our students and faculty.  I would encourage everyone to join because it’s the best way to help our wonderful school community.
