Podcasts can allow students to demonstrate their own knowledge through an audio presentation. You can format podcasts in several different ways. The example in the presentation was created for a Creative Writing I class, focusing on creating a world with sound. However there are multiple options for all classrooms:
Conversations: You may have students choose a topic to research. After, they can record themselves with a partner simply discussing the material. They can have premade questions or let it be an organic discussion. These podcasts tend to be the most popular in mainstream media.
Interview: You may have students interview each other or someone out in the community. Producing a podcast would allow other students in your class to hear the interview. Connect to the topics and standards within your course.
Narrative: You may have students write a script that focuses solely on dialogue and sound effects.
