INFOGRAPHIC: A visual format of easily understood data.
Infographics provide the viewer with a simple overview of a topic. Generally speaking, you should be able to look at an infographic for about 1 minute and learn something new about the topic.
This visual product can be implemented in ANY discipline or subject.
What skills can students learn from creating an infographic?
Summarizing complicated data into a simple format. Students will be asked to synthesize a topic for others to understand.
Design: Students will be asked to consider the layout and graphics on the product in order to convey a visually engaging, yet educational message.
How can the media center help?
After contacting the media specialists about this lesson, we will have a short conversation with you about how you would like to implement it in your classroom. We can offer the media center as a space for your classes to come and learn about infographics and have space to create the product. In connection, we can also offer our research lessons and resources for students to use in order to find the data to include on their infographic.
