Even though I grew up in Missouri and went to high school and college in Arizona, I've been happily settled in the RTP area for 24 years. I love reading, cooking, sci-fi and superheroes, and spending time with my 19 year old daughter, 15 year old son, and our three cats, Leo, Cricket, and Henry. This is my ninth year at Reedy Creek and my eighth year in the 6th grade.

I am starting my fifteenth year as a middle school educator in NC and my first at RCMMS. I've lived in NC since 1988 and have seen it change rapidly over that time. When I am not teaching, you can find me spending time with my family, including our Shar-Pei mix, Ripple Van Wrinkles. I love to go fishing, hunting, and hiking whenever I get the chance.

I am a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Secondary English Education. Additionally, I received my Special Education licensing in 2007. This is my tenth year teaching at RCMMS. I adore my two daughters. Both are freshman this year- at high school and college! I love coffee, cats, the mountains, and teaching!

I recently moved to the Raleigh area during the summer of 2022 after living in Kentucky for the last 25 years. I grew up in California where I studied education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. My seventeen years of teaching experience includes elementary, reading intervention and special education. I love teaching students how to improve their reading. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and being with my daughter (23) and son (19) who are college students in Kentucky.
