Recording Your Podcast

Microphones
Built-in - this refers to the microphone that is built into the device you are recording with. For example, a laptop may have a built-in microphone or you may record with the microphone built into your phone or tablet. These type of microphones do not have the best quality.
External - an external microphone is one that is plugged into the device you are recording with. Using an external microphone can improve the volume and quality of your audio.
The Blue-Yeti , the Elgato Wave 3, and the Alvoxcom are the microphones that I use for recording on my laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet. You can plug any of these microphones into a USB port on a laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet. If you plug into a phone or tablet, you will need an adapter.
