Editing Your Podcast
It is possible to press record, capture all of the audio from your podcast host(s) and guest(s), and then publish or share that recording with your audience. You may not need a bumper or have a need to edit out any of the content recorded. Maybe your not distributing your podcast to a public audience. You just want your students to record a podcast for an assignment or project and do not need to include all of the elements of a podcast and will be forgiving of dead air and slight fumbles of speak. However, if you do want your students to include bumpers and edit out dead air and portions of the podcast where they misspoke, you will want to use an editor. Some editors are more advanced than others.
File Conversion - You may have decided to record a Google Meet meeting or a Zoom meeting. Maybe you have a video file instead of an audio file. If you need to edit this video file you will need to convert it to an audio file. You can accomplish this by importing the video into Anchor. Anchor will convert the video file to an audio file for you. You can edit your audio file in Anchor or download it and import it into Audacity. Audacity will be easier to use for editing your audio file, especially if you need to adjust volume or remove mishaps.

Audacity - Import your audio recording into Audacity. Then edit the recording. There are tutorial videos on YouTube that will walk you through the steps needed to install and use Audacity to edit your audio recordings. You will also be able to use Audacity to create the bumpers for your podcasts.
Anchor can be used to edit your video or audio recordings. The editing features are not as easy to use as Audacity. You may want to experiment with Anchor's editing tool to see if it is a fit for you. If not, consider using Anchor to distribute your podcast, but Audacity to edit the actual audio files and bumpers.
