Hello everyone!
We hope you are all doing well. We miss you all so much! We know that this is a time filled with many unknowns which can make things feel uneasy. We want to help ease your mind and provide you with some resources that we know our students love. We want to make sure you know that at this time, none of these activities are required, they are just supplemental resources that you can use.
Below is a list of online resources for reading, writing, and math that you can utilize. We have also included a list of "daily schedule" ideas in order to help you create structure in these uncertain times. Structure greatly helps students feel at ease and helps with their overall well-being when things are stressful and unknown.
Also, please look to our "Parent resources" tab on this website. We have put lists of additional activities, suggestions, and links to online learning resources for math, reading, and writing. We will continue to update our website with more resources as Wake County Public Schools releases more information. We have also included the WCPSS virtual learning resources link below for you to explore as well.
In addition to these educational resources and activities, we will also be posting a joke of the day, quote of the day, and creative writing prompt of the day to hopefully add a smile to everyone's faces. We will also be adding links to free fun activities such as virtual tours, concerts, etc to help provide some enjoyment and entertainment while at home.
We wish you and your family nothing but health, safety, emotional well-being at this time. We are sending love and positive thoughts to each and every one of you!
Love,
Mrs. Marcombe and Mrs. Hartshorn

Epic is a great online reading platform for kids to use at home. Books can be read aloud to children and students can also find books that they can read aloud independently. Having students read books on Epic that interest them is a great idea. We love to have students read a book on Epic and then write/ draw a summary of what they read. This is a great reading conversation starter for kids and parents!
