2026 - Single Subject Acceleration
Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is an acceleration opportunity provided for enrolled and attending Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) students. As outlined in Board Policy 3422, K-8th grade students who meet specific criteria in Mathematics or English Language Arts (ELA) have the opportunity to accelerate in one subject area.
What are your goals for having your child tested for SSA? It is important to distinguish between a student who is smart and learns quickly and does well on tests versus a student who has innate content knowledge and the ability to master a whole grade level of a subject without the need of a tutor or study material.
The SSA Parent Request window for the 2027-28 school year will be:
Tracks 1 and 3 January 4 - 22, 2027
Track 4: January 25 - February 12, 2027
SSA testing will take place during the testing windows below. Mrs. Bunn will create a testing plan based on the number of students referred for testing. The date and time of your child's testing will be shared with families as soon as possible.
Track 1: February 22 - March 5, 2027
Tracks 3, 4: March 12 - 25, 2027
