Quarterly Differentiated Course Plan
Below highlights the AIG work students are doing in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Identified 3rd graders will be served as AIG starting at the beginning of the school year.
Quarter 1
Third Grade -
ELA - Vocabulary Development using Crypto-Words! Logic Puzzles,
Math - Warm ups using Real World math problems, "pre-algebra" with Mash Up Math, Collecting and using data in the real world.
Fourth Grade
ELA - Poetry and Figurative Language, Students will read poetry for comprehension and write their own poetry!
Math - Mental Math using multi-digit addition and subtraction, Pre-Algebra using MathMashUp, Math Logic Puzzles and work focused on Area and Perimeter.
Fifth Grade
ELA- Vocabulary Development, Systems and Structures, Human Rights in reading, Writing, Parents beware! We are going to learn the Art of Persuasion through Rhetoric
Math Mental Math using multi-digit multiplication and division, Pre-Algebra using MathMashUp, The First Annual PGES Cake Bake-Off (an activity where students will show their knowledge with finding volume and using creativity!
