NHS Tutor Tips:

• Reach out to students with a friendly message

  • "I saw your request for a tutor and I would like to help..."

  • Include the day, time, and location that you plan to meet

• Use the SMART lunch schedule to help you determine which day is best to meet with the student.

• Reach out to the teacher beforehand!

  • Send an email asking the teacher if they are ok with you meeting during their SMART lunch to tutor.

Tutoring Reminders & Guidelines:

• NO TUTORING IN THE MEDIA CENTER!

• NHS members are responsible for reaching out to students who need a tutor (link for sign-up posted on x2VOL).

• All tutoring must occur in a classroom of a teacher who teaches the subject being tutored (ie. Earth Science must be tutored in a Science classroom, French must be tutored in a foreign language classroom, math must be tutored in a math classroom).

• If you cannot find a teacher for a specific day, stop by 2522 (Ms. Yelton) to see if the room is open.
