I believe that dance should be a space where everyone feels welcome, inspired, and seen. My goal is to give all students the opportunity to be active participants in dance, no matter their previous experience. Whether someone is stepping into the studio for the first time or has been dancing for years, I want them to feel encouraged to express themselves and connect through movement. Dance is more than just technique—it's a powerful form of expression, and I strive to create an environment where students can explore, grow, and develop a true appreciation for the art.
My own dance journey began at 5 years old in Sumter, SC, where I trained under Andrea Freed-Levenson as a member of the Sumter Civic Dance Company. I was fortunate to study with the Columbia City Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, and Frank Hatchett, experiences that deepened my love and appreciation for the art form. I earned my degree at East Carolina University.
From 2003 to 2019, I taught dance at FJ Carnage GT/AIG Magnet Middle School in Raleigh. Since 2019, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching at Panther Creek High School in Cary, NC.
