Executive Board Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the NJHS Executive Board
President
- Organizes material for meetings / leads monthly meetings
- Contacts other board members for special meetings, duties, etc.
- Introduces guest speaker at meetings and on Honors Night
- Takes an active role in induction ceremony – calls out names of new members
- Co-organizes and oversees the Dance Committee
Vice President
- Takes on the role of President when President is absent or unavailable
- Creates and maintains a phone chain of current membership
- Organizes and oversees Teacher Appreciation events / activities
- Co-organizes and oversees the Dance Committee
Secretary
- Takes minutes of each meeting and reads minutes from previous meeting
- Takes roll at each meeting and keeps up with absences (excused and unexcused) and notifies advisors when member has an unexcused absence
- Write thank you notes for NJHS
- Collects and files Grade Sheets and Community Service hours from members after each grading period and notifies the advisors of members who have fallen below a 3.5 GPA
- Makes up the agenda for each meeting
Treasurer
- Contacts school bookkeeper before each monthly meeting to get a current status of NJHS funds / reports financial standing at each meeting
- Oversees the ticket sales of the NJHS dance & the sale of any other fund raising activity
- Chairs and oversees the Honor Roll Committee with the distribution of rewards at the end of each grading period
Historian
- Takes pictures at all NJHS functions (good photography skills encouraged)
- Creates a power point scrapbook of the year’s events
- Makes a photo album of power point pictures
- Makes announcements concerning NJHS
- Takes on the responsibility of keeping order at the monthly meetings
