Getting this error?

Quick answer: Enter your full email address which is your_wakeid@students.wcpss.net (That is STUDENTS - not student.)

Explanation: WCPSS uses an Internet filter called Zscaler to block inappropriate websites while students use their WCPSS account. We are required by federal law to filter content on any district device. Your student may be prompted to sign into Zscaler. If so, they should use their full WCPSS WakeID (e.g., wakeid@students.wcpss.net) and follow the on-screen prompts. The filter is only enabled when the student is logged into the Chrome browser or Chromebook with their WCPSS account. It will stop filtering when the student logs out of their WCPSS account.

Wake ID: Grade 3 -5 New Passwords

Here's help from WCPSS with...

  • Logging into your WakeID Portal (includes password help)

  • Setting up a School Chromebook

  • Google Classroom and Google Meet Help

  • Online Safety and more.....

NOTE: If you get "Authentication Failed" when trying to log into your WakeID portal, close the browser (Click X in the top right corner) then, open it again. Go to wakeid.wcpss.net and try again. If you take too long, forget to select student or enter your password incorrectly you could get this error.

Using a personal device and having issues with Google Meet, Classroom or Jamboard?

You may be logged in as someone else (or no one) in Chrome. There's a "circle icon" below the X in the upper right corner. Click it. If it's not the same person as the WakeID, choose that person or click add. You'll need to add the whole wakeid, which is wakeid@students.wcpss.net.

Having Trouble with Google Meet or Google Classroom

This resource addresses a variety of Chromebook issues- on WCPSS owned Chromebooks. This may not apply to personal chromebooks. When students logging into a personal chromebook, they will need to enter their "full WakeID" which is wakeid@students.wcpss.net (i.e. jdoe@students.wcpss.net)
