Nominations:
Nominations for 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade students, who are not already identified AIG, are accepted at all times during the school year. All nominations are reviewed by the School Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBCGE) who will determine which students to refer for testing.
Nominated students should have a history and current academic performance and behavioral patterns which support the need for enrichment services. The academic performance and behavioral patterns can be determined by looking at informal data, such as parent checklists, teacher checklists, and student portfolios which include Level 4 work samples. As well as, formal indicators such as the following standardized tests: CogAT, IOWA, and EOG's.
In order to be considered for Fall Testing your student will need to be nominated by the last week of September. In order to be considered for Spring Testing your student will need to be nominated by the first week of January. If you would like to nominate your child for testing, please email Meghan Sollars at msollars@wcpss.net.
Testing Dates: 2026-2027-
NEW THIS YEAR-Testing is only followed if the SBCGE after a portfolio is started first and the SBCGE Team agrees the data portrays testing is necessary.
