For contests with virtual submissions, teachers will submit the contributions of the students via a Google Drive Folder. Please make sure to select the correct sub-folder for the contest, level, and your school and check the rules for the individual contests for further information.
You can access the Google Drive Folder with all links here!
Student videos can be submitted in one of three ways. Please choose the one option that works best for you:
Upload to Google Folder. You upload student videos (.mp4) files to the German Day Google Drive Folder for your school. Please make sure you use the file names provided in the guidelines. These indicate the contest, level and student's name.
YouTube. Your students post videos to YouTube themselves, selecting the privacy setting “Unlisted.” To submit, you upload a document to the Golder Folder containing each student’s name and that student’s individual YouTube link.
Instructions on Camera resolution for videos:
Important!: The file size for video recordings in Google is limited. You must adjust your camera to shoot a smaller-sized video:
From an I-phone or I-pad, go to Settings. Choose “Camera,” then “Record video.” Touch the arrow and choose “720p HD at 30 fps”
From an Android device, go to Camera. At the bottom left, click “Settings.” Then select “Videos,” and finally “Resolutions.” Select “HD1280 x 720 at 30 fps.”
Additionally, the file names must indicate all the necessary infos. Please use the following file names so that we can easily identify entries, adjusting to add the correct contest level and names:
For the Kochsendung Videos: KSLevelALASTNAMEFIRSTINITIAL_NameofSchool (For example, "KSLevelASmithJ_SampleSchool")
For the Song Videos: SOLevelALASTNAMEFIRSTINITIAL_NameofSchool
For the artwork submissions: ART2DLASTNAMEFIRSTINITIAL_NameofSchool (includes the exact art category)
