Welcome to 4th Grade!

My name is Melissa Mallian and I am very excited to be your child’s 4th grade teacher! This will be my second year at Sycamore Creek Elementary School and my 9th year teaching 4th grade. I feel so lucky to be a Croc! 🐊 

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Elon University. While there, I was also able to follow another passion of mine by taking quite a few history classes. So, if you get me started on anything related to history, I may never stop!

I am originally from a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, but have lived in Cary, NC since 2007. I am the oldest of 3 Mallian kids. I have two younger brothers, Mitch & Matt, who are twins! 👨👨 Outside of school, I enjoy reading, visiting museums, walking and playing with my dogs Quincy & Shiloh, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
