Grading Policy

I do a lot of work in the classroom to ensure that students understand the standards based grading system and the focus on growth over performance.

Please keep in mind that some standards lend more to Level 4 opportunities that others. There are also plenty of opportunities for challenge in the classroom that may not be reflected in graded assignments.

Canvas

We will be using Canvas for online unit assessments in Reading (EL), Math, Science, and Social Studies. These grades are reflected on the report card

Pre-tests and Post Tests

Often times we will complete pre-tests that look identical or similar to the unit tests themselves. This allows for data collection to guide instruction. It also shows students the growth they have made in that concept.

Re-do Policy

Students are allowed to redo any assignment/test without help within the grading period.
