Absences and Tardies

Absences and tardies are monitored by the school Social Worker. If your child has excessive absences or tardies, you will be contacted by the school about them. Absences will be coded as unexcused unless a note or email is sent with an excuse for the absence. Students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. If you take an out of town trip it will be unexcused unless prior approval has been given by the principal. It is important that your child comes to school everyday and is on time. Students must be in the classroom before the tardy bell rings or they will be counted as tardy.

Report Cards/Progress Reports

I will schedule parent/teacher conferences after the 1st quarter. Report Cards will go out at the end of every quarter. Every student will receive progress reports half way through all quarters. I will schedule parent/teacher conferences at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarter though an online sign up

Assessing student’s learning is important for their progress. Work will be graded according to the scale listed below:

P- Practice (no grade was taken), 4- well above grade level, 3- on grade level, 2- below grade level, and 1- well below grade level

The best form of communication is by email, cklaus@wcpss.net. I will respond as soon as I am able to. You may also call the school and leave a message for me to call back.
