Hello, Charger families! I joined the Apex Friendship Middle School staff in its inaugural year and am excited for year two! I am originally from Pennsylvania and a Pennsylvania State University graduate. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education there in 2000 and immediately moved to North Carolina to pursue my career as an educator. Prior to joining Apex Friendship Middle School, I have spent sixteen years at the elementary level and the majority of those years with fifth grade students. Throughout these years, I have been privileged to receive Teacher of the Year recognition and also an award from the Cary Chamber of Commerce’s Honor a Teacher program. I have served as the Special Education Contact and been on a variety of leadership teams, including the School Improvement Team and the Instructional Leadership Team.

I reside in Apex with my wonderful husband, Gage, and my two children, Isaac (age 13) and Eden (age 10). We have two rescue dogs named Cooper and Indy, and I can’t imagine going through life without dogs. Outside of school, I am typically hauling the kids to soccer, dance, or gymnastics.

I believe ALL students can learn and grow, and fostering strong relationships among students and parents is the key to their success. These values are connected to the our school's vision, and I am lucky to be a part of the Charger family.
