Meet Mrs. Austin

Hello Bengals and Families!
Welcome! My name is Cait Austin, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s second grade journey this year. I’m originally from Horsham, Pennsylvania—a town outside of Philadelphia. (Go Eagles!) After high school, I moved down south to pursue my passion for teaching and earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics from East Carolina University in 2013.

My teaching journey began right here at Willow Springs, where I spent the first four years of my career. I then had the incredible opportunity to help open Bryan Road Elementary, where I taught second grade for seven years. Now, I’m thrilled to be back at Willow Springs—it feels so special to return to the place where my love for teaching first began.

Over the years, I’ve taught both first and second grade, and I have to say—second grade has my heart! I love supporting students as they grow into confident, curious, and enthusiastic learners.

I live in Raleigh with my husband, Drew, and our daughter, Ellerie. Ellerie is a fun, energetic little one who keeps us on our toes and fills our lives with so much joy. In my free time, I enjoy visiting family at the beach, going on walks, strolling the aisles of TJ Maxx, listening to music, spending time at the park, and making memories with family and friends.

I’m so excited for all the fun, laughter, and amazing adventures we’ll have together this year. I can’t wait to see all the growth and joy we’ll share as a class!
