Crystal Ortiz

Hello my name is Crystal Ortiz. I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to North Carolina with my parents and siblings in 1977. My husband and I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1997.My husband and I together have 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

I have been working with WCPSS since 1997. I began my career with the school system as an assistant. This is my third year as a kindergarten teacher. I love working with young children and watching them grow.

I graduated from Shaw University here in Raleigh, NC with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and in 2024 graduated earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education and Science of Curriculum.

In my spare time, when I am not working, I love to spend time with my family and I love to travel.
