Step 1: Complete the following Ligon Placement Audition Google Form
Step 2: Complete your Placement Audition Videos
At the very top of this website under the Audition Materials button, you will see a tab for the the 4 dance genres that you can complete a placement audition for. On each tab, you will see the specific movements that you need to include in your audition video. For some genres, you will need to learn and showcase the dance combination that is posted. You may practice as much as you need to before your take your video. You can audition for as many styles as you would like! Please complete 1 video per dance genre - example: if you want to audition for ballet and tap, you should have 1 video that only shows the ballet requirements and another video that only shows the tap requirements. If you would like to be considered for Dance Ensemble, you must complete both a ballet and modern audition.
Step 3: Submit your Placement Audition Videos
Once you have completed your videos, you will need to send an email to Ms. Harrison with your videos included. You may attach your videos in the email or send us a Google Drive link of your videos. Make sure you ask a trusted adult to help you! Ms. Harrison's email is tdharrison@wcpss.net
Please include the following as your subject of your email:
"Your First and Last Name Ligon Placement Audition - list of dance genres you are auditioning for"
*Example: Ms. Harrison Ligon Placement Audition - Tap and Ballet
ALL AUDITION VIDEOS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY MARCH 12TH!
Once you have completed your audition, you will receive an email from Ms. Harrison with class level you are eligible to take for next school year. Make sure you sign up for the correct dance class while doing your elective registration with your counselors! If not, you will automatically be placed in a Level I class.
