Collaboration

School libraries specialize in supporting learning for their school communities. To ensure needs are being met, it is essential that school librarians collaborate with staff, other librarians, students, and their community. 

The resources on this page can support your work to build a collaborative culture for your library program. Collaboration can include: 

• Building a strong Media Technology Advisory Committee (MTAC) to support the library's goals and contribute to decision-making;

• Collaboratively planning and providing instruction with teachers;

• Participating in school librarian Professional Learning Communities (PLCs);

• Identifying and providing professional learning to support school staff; and

• Working with library volunteers.
