Spanish Immersion is a specialized program at our school designed for a cohort of students. Alongside traditional classes, we offer Spanish Immersion classes currently available to students in Grades K-3.
In the Spanish Immersion program, students participate in daily math, science, literacy, and social studies classes conducted entirely in Spanish.
Our immersion program focuses on developing fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in both Spanish and English. The NC Standard Course of Study serves as the framework for our language immersion curriculum.
Here are the Spanish Immersion models we offer:
Grades K-1:
90% of daily instruction is delivered in Spanish
10% of daily instruction is delivered in English.
In our Spanish Immersion program, instruction in the homeroom class is conducted entirely in Spanish, providing students with 100% immersion. As students transition to Specials or Quests, instruction switches to English, accounting for the 10% of English-language instruction.
