Melissa Taylor is a native of North Carolina and an alumna of Wake County Public Schools. She was a member of the Triangle Youth Symphony and Triangle Youth Philharmonic. She received her Undergraduate and Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also earned her National Board Certificate in Early and Middle Childhood/Music. Mrs. Taylor knew she wanted to be a teacher at a very young age, and couldn't imagine doing anything else! She started playing a stringed instrument at 7 years old, and loves having the opportunity to be her students' first orchestra teacher. She wants her students to be independent, lifelong musicians. When she is not at school, Mrs. Taylor enjoys gardening, sushi, being outdoors, and hanging out with her husband and two kids. Mrs. Taylor is grateful to be at an amazing school that nurtures all students' gifts and talents! "Make a joyful noise!"
