My name is Kortney Howerton and I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year! First grade is such a great year and I can't wait to share it with you! I am looking forward to a wonderful and fun learning year! This is my 6th year of teaching and my 3rd year at Brier Creek Elementary. I am excited to get to know each of the students and families more as we begin the school year together!

Before moving to Raleigh, I attended Penn State University where I got my degree in Early Childhood Education. I then began my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction through Penn State World Campus and completed it in 2016. I live right in Brier Creek with my husband Chris. We have a rescue puppy named Maybelle! We enjoy traveling to the beach and spending time with our families. We also like to cheer for Penn State and UNC in all sports!
