Each letter grade is worth a certain number of points. Add up the number of points for 4 core classes and 2 electives for the first semester and divide by 6.

Here is a more detailed description of each pillar.
Students invited to be candidates for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) have already met the scholarship pillar and demonstrated a desire to serve their community. The NJHS Faculty Council will evaluate each candidate's profile based on the other four pillars of the society:
1. Scholarship: met if student received invitation to candidacy
2. Leadership: activities that show dependability, responsibility, positivity
3. Citizenship: activities that show respect for school and community standards
4. Service: activities that show positive collaboration with others, cheerful service
5. Character: exemplifies high standards of behavior, honesty and reliability at all times
1. Submit in writing any new information or questions to the adviser (aworley@wcpss.net) within two weeks of receiving the selection notice.
2. The Faculty Council will review the new information and notify the parent of the result.
3. If the result is unsatisfactory, the parent can appeal to the principal. The new information will be presented to the principal for a final decision.
